What we collect

We keep this deliberately small. There are three ways information reaches us:

• When you request a consultation: your name, email, phone number if you give one, the treatment you are interested in and the message you write.
• When you leave a review: your rating, your review text, and the first name and last initial we show with it.
• When you ask a question: the question, any detail you add, and the display name you choose.
• Automatically: standard web records such as your approximate city from your IP address, pages visited, browser type and the date and time.

Health information

A consultation request, a review or a question may contain information about your health because you chose to write it. Please share only what is needed to be contacted, and never include anything you would not want a provider to read.

Reviews, questions and answers are public by design. Your consultation request is not public: it goes to the provider you contacted.

Empire Verified is a directory, not a covered entity under HIPAA. The providers you contact have their own obligations for the records they keep about you.

Who we share it with

When you request a consultation, we pass your details to that provider so they can contact you. That is the entire point of the request, and we do not send it to anyone else.

We use service companies to run the site: Cloudflare (hosting and security), DigitalOcean (servers), Mailgun (email) and Google Maps (the provider map). They process data on our behalf under their own terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Reviews and how verification works

A review is marked “verified patient” only when it comes from a single-use link we email to someone who requested a consultation through this site. Providers cannot write, buy or remove reviews, and they cannot see your email address in the published review.

Providers may reply publicly to a review. If a reply reveals private information about you, tell us and we will remove it.

Before and after photos

Photos are published by providers, who confirm they hold a signed photo-release form from the patient, and our team reviews each case before it appears. If a photo of you was published without your consent, write to us and we will take it down while we look into it.

How long we keep it

Consultation requests are kept while the provider needs them to follow up, and no longer than two years. Published reviews, questions and answers stay up unless you ask us to remove them. Web records are kept for up to 12 months.

Your choices

Write to [email protected] to see what we hold about you, correct it, remove a review or question you wrote, or delete your information entirely. We answer within 30 days.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including in California and other US states with privacy laws. We honour those requests for everyone, wherever you are.

Cookies

We use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your search. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children

The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for meaningful changes, say so on the site.
