Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable made from deoxycholic acid, a molecule the body uses to break down dietary fat. Injected under the chin, it destroys fat cells so the body can clear them — and treated fat cells do not come back.
It is a strong option for people bothered by fullness under the chin that does not respond to diet and exercise, including those who are otherwise fit or have a genetic tendency to store fat there.
Your provider marks a grid under the chin and places a series of small injections. The procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Most patients need two to four sessions spaced about six weeks apart.
